Motion Graphic for a showreel

I was reached out to by a filmmaker to create a logo for his company. Whilst creating the logo, I decided to create a small motion graphic as a prototype that could potentially be used in a showreel instead of a static logo.

First Year University Brief: Traditional 2D

In my first year of my BA Animation degree I studied being an animator. One of my briefs was in Traditional 2D Animation and was a group project. We were given 30 seconds of music and each had our own 10 second snippet. We were told to stick to basic images and shapes in order to see the relationship between image and sound and how they compliment each other, and that our snippets must sync up well with each other. This was my 10 second snippet.

First Year University Brief: Stop Motion (Human)

In my first year of my BA Animation degree I studied being an animator. One of my briefs was in Stop Motion where we had to make a puppet out of basic objects that gave us the basic outline of a human body. The armature is made from balsa wood, polystyrene balls, twisted 3mm aluminium wire, coins, and K&S. The aim of the project was to create a puppet on a basic budget that we could then concentrate on the timing and key frames of our animations and closely matching them to our reference videos.

First Year University Brief: Stop Motion (Wings)

In my first year of my BA Animation degree I studied being an animator. One of my briefs was in Stop Motion where we had to make a puppet out of basic objects that gave us the basic outline of a winged animal. I chose to research and collect reference videos and imagery of an owl, and created the puppet out of balsa wood, twisted 3mm aluminium wire, and paper. The aim was to study the animal and capture its movement from taking off, in flight, and landing.
